Dear friends and former volunteers,
If you ever spent a summer morning in our community libraries, helped with a workshop, shared a game, or exchanged smiles with our kids in Peru this message is for you.
Because you were part of this story.
The Program You Helped Build
Since 2016, our community libraries have offered free summer education programs every January and February for children ages 5 to 12. What began as a small initiative has grown into a safe, joyful space where children learn, play, and feel supported.
Together, we created spaces where children:
- Learned to read and strengthen school skills
- Played sports and explored movement
- Discovered yoga, cooking, and new languages
- Practiced values like respect, tolerance, and cultural exchange
Some of you shared classrooms with our Peruvian or Venezuelan teachers, and helped make cultural exchange a daily reality.

Look How Far We’ve Come
- 2016: 10 children, 1 library
- Today: nearly 200 children, 2 active community libraries
- Next step: 2 more communities ready to open new libraries
This growth carries your fingerprints. What you gave your time, energy, and heart still lives in these spaces.
What We’re Working Toward Now
As this summer comes to an end, we want to support our children in two meaningful ways:
1️⃣ A closing summer integration trip
A moment of celebration, laughter, and connection with classmates and friends.
2️⃣ School starter kits for the new academic year
In Peru, families must cover all back-to-school expenses, including:
- School uniforms
- Mandatory sports uniforms
- School supplies
For many parents, these costs are a heavy burden. We want to help ensure every child can start school prepared and confident.
